I don’t play golf (not counting the “mini” variety). I’ve never walked a fairway and couldn’t drive a ball straight repeatedly if I tried, and trust me, I’ve tried! Jeff took me to a driving range a few years ago and he’s probably still wishing he hadn’t. Using the house drivers, every ball I hit ricocheted off the divider that separates the bays. To my credit though, using Jeff’s “special” driver, I did hit one really nice striaght shot, but I think Jeff was a little uneasy seeing his favorite driver in my clumsy hands.
Anyway, just because I don’t play doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the sport. I enjoy watching the big tournaments (the Masters, the U.S. Open, etc.) and I even have a few golfers that I root for (I wonder, does one actually “root” for someone in golf?). Among the golfers that I respect is Fuzzy Zoeller. Why? Well, for starters, he’s won the Masters Tournament, and any golfer that’s won the Masters deserves respect. He’s also made a hole-in-one (probably more than one!), and although luck had a lot to do with it, it was still an amazing shot!

Well, I’m at Fenway Park tonight for my first Red Sox game of the 2006 season (with many more to come hopefully!). The Sox, who are up 5 - 0 in the bottom of the first (Woo Hoo!!), are hosting the Toronto Blue Jays. Clement is pitching tonight, but I’m more interested in seeing Paplebon when he’s sent in to close out the 9th.

It’s not that often that I can get to a game. With the Red Sox selling out every game for the last several seasons, ticket prices have soared. Most of the time, the tickets I get are from people selling their season tickets on eBay, and usually at a premium! I was able to go to this game because Jeff had an extra ticket.
